As good as WhatsApp marketing is, it has more disadvantages. The first is that marketing is limited to only the users on our contacts. This has limited the number of people to view the stories of have access to whatever we may be advertising.

WhatsApp as well has limited file upload. It can not upload bigger files or lenghty videos, making it difficult for users to market effectively using it.

WhatsApp social media users do complain that contacts don't check their statuses because they are filled with many videos or pictures.
 
I beg to be differ on your assertion that you are limited to your contact alone with WhatsApp marketing. In fact WhatsApp marketing is one of the coolest ways to sell digital products over here in my country.

The reason is that the Open rate of WhatsApp is higher than any other medium for my country. You can only encounter limitation if you focus on your immediate contacts. You need to work on lead generation to attract the prospects for your digital products or services from social platform to your WhatsApp.

For instance I am selling Amazon kdp course, I use Facebook to generate leads of prospects to my WhatsApp and I upsell them. WhatsApp marketing mix it easier to follow up on your prospect to make more sense with whatever you offer.
