Marketing is good but not that very important to the consumers. A consumer who wants to make a right decision about a product or a service need to engage in the research not relying solely on marketing. A consumer who rely on marketing will be less informed and they will end up making a bad decision. This is the reason why some people tags marketers as evils people whereas they are the one who are not doing the good job. A consumer needs to be well informed before they make a buying decision irrespective of what the marketing message is saying. I would like to hear the perspective of other members of this forum on this topic.
